Our goal is to provide an opportunity for Laurel and Hardy film buffs to gather in an informal setting to enjoy the films of the late, great Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy along with a burger and a beer.

In the mid 1960's, Laurel & Hardy biographer, Dr. John McCabe formed a small group of Laurel & Hardy enthusiasts called "Sons of the Desert".  Over the years the society has grown to well over 200 chapters or "tents".  Dr. McCabe along with the likes of Orson Bean, Al Kilgore, Chuck McCann and John Municino developed a mock-serious "constitution" which was endorsed and then humorously revised by none other than Stan Laurel himself.  The constitution refers to the board members who are called the Grand Sheik, Vice-Sheik, Grand Vizier (secretary) and the Sub-Vice-Vizier (treasurer) and allows them no authority whatsoever.  It also states that the member societies shall choose their name from one of the films the boys starred in.  We chose "Brats" from 1930 as it, well,  just seemed to fit.
